Description:
Anaesthesia is a reversible process by which loss of sensation in a body part or
in the whole body, is induced-usually by the administration of a drug that depresses the activity of nervous tissue either locally or generally.
The purpose of anaesthesia is to provide a safe, convenient, and inexpensive means of restraint to enable clinical procedures to be performed with the minimum of
pain, discomfort and toxicity to the patient and anaesthetist.
