Description:
Psychotropic drug - Any drug capable of affecting the mind, emotions, and behavior.
Psychotropic Drugs are also called Psycho Pharmacological Agents. The Drugs are used for treatment of Psychiatric disorders or Mental illness.
Psychotropic drugs are grouped into:
- Antipsychotic drugs or the major tranquilizers
- Anxiolytics or the minor tranquilizers or antianxiety drugs also act as Anticonvulsant or Antiepileptic Drugs.
- Antidepressants or mood elevators.
